Award Winning Child Advocates and Indie Graphic Novelists
Hi Everyone! We’re Jim and John. We’re twins who began creating comics in the womb together. Stan and Jack taught us how to read at a very early age. So we created the 3rd big comic universe to rival Marvel and DC. We were only 8. It didn’t launch.
In high school and college we started writing songs, formed a band and recorded a couple albums.
That band was breaking on college radio and playing at great venues but then – plot twist. Life swerved. So we had to fall back on our law degrees (thank you Stan and Jack for teaching us to read so well).
We used those law degrees to create the Foster Children’s Project – an award winning children’s law office for foster kids and the first one in Florida. This was not part of the original plan.
What surprised us was the kids. They were funny, smart, resilient, sarcastic and way tougher than any superhero we’d ever written or read about.
They didn’t need saving. They were already fighting.
They say never meet your heroes. But there we were.
Our storytelling pulls from all of it: DIY creativity, indie-band energy and the real heroes who inspired us along the way. No origin stories. No perfect endings. Just stories about finding your voice and using it. Because sometimes the best superpower isn’t strength or flight, it’s surviving long enough to find your way home.
The Stolen Child was published by Action Lab and Volume 1 is now on Webtoons.
Our next project is the hilarious and heartbreaking story of creating a children’s law office in Florida: a state where no one is from and no one intends to stay. A state of orphans.
